This terms topic is called ‘My wonderful Home!

Oak class will be creating class rules with my friends and will be learning the routines of the school day.  They will talk about their families and other people who are important to them and where they live and the local community. They will also be thinking about occasions and events special to themselves and others.

Oak Class will be using all five senses to investigate things around them. They will be recognising similarities and differences between each other and will be learning about different parts of the body.

The children will learn to recognise and write their names and write familiar words and sounds that they are taught in phonics, using the correct letter formation.  They will talk about characters in story books and role play familiar stories talking about the characters feelings.

The children will explore sounds, sing familiar songs and nursery rhymes and move to music whilst playing a variety of instruments.  They will draw and paint a self-portrait and learn about colour and colour mixing.
