Groovy Great Plague

In Birch Class we are learning about the Great Plague. We have learnt how people who got infected with the plague had swellings called buboes. We injected some custard into a jam doughnut and added black food colouring on top. After heating in the microwave the doughnut exploded. The jam represents the blood, the custard represents the pus and the black is the infection. However, we realised that the doughnut smelt far better than an infected bubo would smell!!!
