Sport and PE News

Over the last few weeks, Birch Class has learnt all about making strong and stable structures with the view of making a zip line for a toy keyring to zip down! We learnt all about making A frames and made models using lolly sticks. These were tied together using reef knots which we all had fun practising. On the last day of this half term, Birch Class got together in small groups and had a go at constructing their own zip lines. The children had to think about size of the frames, the tautness of the string and how to hold the structures to the ground. You could see the learning and constant evaluating going on but with a dash of fun and laughter thrown in too! Watch this space for next half term. We will be making our own junk models based on the capsule of the Soyuz type rockets used for taking astronauts to space!!!!!!!!!
